About water sommelier Pat Eckert

Pat Eckert is a certified water sommelier, founder of Fine Liquids,
and curator of the AQAPOLIS — the world's most comprehensive water
bottle collection with over 3,500 specimens from more than 100 countries.
He advises Michelin-starred restaurants on their water menus, trains water
sommeliers through the colors of water academy, and serves on international
juries including the Fine Water Society Taste & Design Awards and the FoodBev
Global Water Drinks Awards. In 2026, he spoke at the Berkeley Springs
International Water Tasting in the USA — the world's oldest and most
prestigious water competition.

Pat has been working with water since 2010 and took over Fine Liquids in 2018.
He is the creator of AQA FINELLI, the first German water brand to reach the
finals of the Zenith Global Water Drinks Awards (Top 5 worldwide), and the
author of The Colors of Water — Rethink Water (2024). His work has been
featured on SWR/ARD, Pro7 Galileo, BBC Radio, Channel 4 UK, ABC News, and
in publications including Der Spiegel, The Guardian, The Telegraph, NZZ,
and L'Express.
