The Story:
Let’s start with his equally outstanding story.
The Hallstein spring in the Dachstein Mountains near Obertraun was not simply found in the way you would expect a spring to be. It was by no means the case that a thirsty hiker took a drink from a mountain stream and found the best spring in the world. No. The spring was not simply found. It was searched for, worldwide.
One day, the father of the Muhr family, who live in New York, decided that from now on they would completely give up juices and lemonades for health reasons - much to the chagrin of their three children. But this decision gave rise to the desire to have the best water in the world and they researched together for weeks and months, bringing doctors and scientists on board to first define what the perfect water on planet Earth should be like and what criteria it should meet.
Once that was done and the 8 core parameters were established, thousands of drinking waters available worldwide were tested and analyzed over the last 16 years, but nothing was found.
So geologists and hydrologists were sent around the world to find a structure in which the water they were looking for could be formed. After years of research, investigation and study, the right mountain range was found - ironically in the family's country of origin, Austria. The aquifer was drilled and the artesian spring, which had been hidden until then, came to light and a fountain shot meters high out of the ground for two days until the head could be sealed. Hallstein was born.

So what are the core parameters that make this water unique in the world?
It is the only water in the world that bubbles up without any help, i.e. artesian, and is bottled without filtration or any treatment at a discharge temperature of 5.6°C. It has a TDS of just 84ml/L, a slightly alkaline pH value of 8.3 and the perfect balance of the calcium/magnesium ratio of 2:1 for the body. Hardly any nitrates, hardly any sodium, almost zero organic carbon and, in contrast, a high content of naturally bound oxygen. All perfected by Mother Nature.

The spring in Obertraun at the foot of the Dachstein Mountains is located in a unique geological limestone and glacier structure at a depth of 215 meters. The water needs about 8-10 years to make its way as a drop of water over the Salzkammergut through the rock to the untouched spring and acquires its unique properties on this journey.
TheWater:
The water itself tastes wonderfully light and smooth, yet full of body and elegance. With each sip, your mouth feels more and more at home with Hallstein water, and it becomes love at first sip. Once you've had it, you can hardly resist its spell. Unlike other waters with little to no mineral content, it doesn't taste empty or boring, but has its own unobtrusive character, a clear freshness and clarity. The still water is literally the best companion, but above all it becomes part of the experience itself. It doesn't really matter whether you enjoy it with wine at dinner or with spirits.
