ZERO powered by AQUAPORIN
No pump. No electricity. No stress.
Water treatment at its finest: Clean drinking water without pesticides, viruses and bacteria.
The filter package for your water treatment system. All 4 filters in one kit.
The filters based on aquaporin technology are the heart of our ZERO filter system.
The four filters are changed once a year: the pre- and post-filter, and the two RO filters (reverse osmosis filters based on aquaporin). The filters feature quick connect valves for easy replacement without tools.
Aquaporins are proteins that form a water-carrying channel through the cell membrane; they are found in the otherwise water-impermeable cell membrane of many plants and animals. The aquaporins let water molecules through, but prevent the cell from losing nutrient molecules or salt ions.
Since biomembranes are water-repellent on the inside, their conductivity for water molecules is very low.
The water conductivity of an aquaporin channel, on the other hand, is up to 3 billion molecules per second. The aquaporin family of proteins is divided into ordinary aquaporins and aquaglyceroporins. Under physiological conditions, aquaporins appear as tetramers, ie four aquaporin channels are built into a biological membrane as a unit.
Our filters are unique in the world because they are based precisely on these biological principles.
