Elsenham Artisian Spring Water

Elsenham Artesian Spring Water: Only the very best.

When Elsenham launched in 2005, it was a pioneer in the super premium water category. With its elegant perfume bottle style design and limited edition production, this English brand has carved a niche in the world of luxury hotels and top restaurants.

The history:

Sir Walter Gilbey - Baron von Elsenham Hall and owner of Essex's most famous orchards - is the founder of what is now a very exclusive jam company, which refines its jams with brandy, gin and whiskey.

Although Sir Gilbey's artesian well dried up in the 1960s, his descendants succeeded in rediscovering the aquifer at greater depths at the turn of the millennium. They built a modern bottling plant above the source.

The exclusive premium water never gets into the discount trade. Particular attention is paid to the glass of the bottle. Every drop in the bottle with designer rights and a volume of 75cl is considered a treasure.

In Elsenham itself, any visitor wanting to sample the premium water on site is a welcome guest, and so is the modern water cafe. After the enjoyment, Gilbey's polite heirs are happy to allow a look behind the glass scenes.

The source:

Elsenham is a premium quality and exceptional water sourced from a centuries-old artesian well in the London area. Elsenham was first mined in 1890 from the unique headwaters of a calcareous aquifer. Due to the enormous depth of the spring, the water has a very special purity, it is also particularly rich in calcium, iron, low in sodium and strontium (good for bone density) and has only very small amounts of sodium.

The water is decades old and bottled at source from a deep underground calcareous aquifer. The aquifer has remained untouched for centuries, having originally been beneath the sea leaving protective layers 300m thick down to this confined chalk aquifer. Today these are natural filters, which means that the process takes decades to produce the purest water. The source has enormous reserves.

The water:

The still version tastes absolutely pure and, if you will, very earthy.

The extremely fine and long-lasting perlage of the carbonic acid gives the sparkling version of this exquisite water a well-measured, pearly freshness. The high quality, soft palate water is particularly suitable for exclusive events, wine tastings or banquets with stylish carafes. Each filling comes from a limited batch.

The mark:

Elsenham Artisian Spring Water is positioned in the luxury premium market and sells through exclusive distributors to the finest hotels, restaurants, retailers and corporations worldwide.

Each bottle is polished by hand before export, and only up to 1,000 bottles of Finewater are filled every day.

The design:

The bottle design is a very clear visual statement and cannot be compared to any other bottle.

As a highly refined premium water, Elsenham is only bottled in the well-known designer glass bottle. The puristic, simple design emphatically underlines what is special about this artesian water. The unique design of the noble water, which is particularly popular in high-end gastronomy, won the renowned Best Bottle in Glass Design Award in Dubai in 2005.
