INLAND ICE

premium water | Finewater

The taste of 100,000 years: real ice sheet, or as they say in Greenland, inland ice.

The history:
Permanent ice with an area of more than 50,000 km² exists in only two places on Earth - namely in Antarctica and Greenland.

The Greenland ice sheet covers about 80% of the country and is 2 to 3km thick. In a continuous, natural process, the ice sheet "calves" icebergs, which melt and disappear into the ocean. Bottling the ice captures one of the most valuable natural resources there is before it is lost at sea.

The Greenland ice sheet has remained untouched for more than 100,000 years and formed long before the first humans. Thousands of years have preserved this natural product in a uniquely pristine condition - completely free of pollutants or impurities.

INLAND ICE thus belongs to the extraordinarily rare category of the purest unprocessed drinking water in the world - with a taste that fully corresponds to its uniqueness.

The water:
Ultimate Palate Enhancer

You, as a consumer, are now paying more and more attention to the quality of the products, how they are grown and where they come from. Chefs and restaurateurs around the world must rise to the challenge of delivering new taste experiences that are not easily forgotten.

It is the unique chemical composition and extreme purity that not only gives this water such a smooth mouthfeel, but also prevents it from binding to ingredients with which it is mixed. A wonderful property that allows the different and individual aromas to shine to their full extent. As the ultimate palate enhancer, Eisschildwasser provides the perfect balance in a world of permanent flooding.

Water quality is measured in TDS. The term "dissolved solids" refers to any mineral, salt, metal, cation or anion dissolved in water. Total dissolved solids in water include inorganic salts, principally calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, bicarbonate, chloride and sulfate.

The water undergoes three water quality tests during the bottling process.

Responsibility:
Harvesting a natural resource

Greenland is 17 times the size of England, making it the largest island in the world. In the Disko Bay area alone in northwestern Greenland, 70 million tons of inland ice are pushed into the bay in the form of icebergs, which then melt in the ocean.

The nearly 60,000 Inuit, the original inhabitants and current population of Greenland, are traditionally hunters, and their climate is not suitable for agriculture. Fishing has thus become the lifeline and main industry of the Greenlandic economy today. It is therefore a necessary priority for the government to strengthen its economy by developing new industries and thereby improving the well-being of the Greenlandic people:

"The stated goal is to develop the production and export of ice and water for one or more business sectors, which will contribute to the generation of income and employment in Greenland."

The government has therefore granted a license to allow the production of INLAND ICE in return for payment of royalties for each liter harvested.
