Magnificat Azores Water

Artesian volcanic water from the Azores.

premium water | FINE WATER from Portugal

Far out in the North Atlantic, the Azores archipelago is shielded and well insulated from any man-made environmental influences. Magnificat's source is on the island of St. Miguel, in a unique aquifer deep inland and around the 6-volcanic Furnas volcanic complex in the east of the island. An immense volume of naturally purified still and sparkling water is preserved and protected from all planetary pollution.

Magnificat means something like “My soul magnifies the Lord” in Latin and has its origins in the 18th century. The name was deliberately chosen to baptize the artesian water that bubbles up by itself from the dormant Furnas volcano.

The philosophy:

Magnificat is a true gift from nature and it demands respect and conservation. Whatever Renova does as producer of Magnificat, you do successfully and well. A natural water, protected for thousands of years, without sterilization, without additives.

Magnificat's identity is closely linked to its source, the Furnas volcano in the Azores.

The water:

Magnificat rises under the volcano at a depth of just under 90 meters and is naturally slightly carbonized at a temperature of 6-8 °C. This process, which is completely natural and stable all year round, produces ultra-smooth and persistent fine bubbles of carbonation.

For a naturally carbonated water it is also a very light and almost sulfate free water with only 241mg/L TDS/Total Mineral Residue. More than a third of its mineralization is naturally dissolved silicic acid (silicon dioxide), a compound that has been scientifically shown to be extremely beneficial for health on many levels, particularly for the regeneration of human tissue walls such as the brain, heart, liver, arteries, cartilage and bones . One of the few ways the human body absorbs silica is through natural water dissolution.

A nitrate-free water with a special silica content. Silicic acid reduces the development of dementia, it keeps nails, teeth, hair & skin healthy and fresh.

The water is filtered through various layers of volcanic rock and "sees" the light of day for the first time in thousands of years when it is bottled at the source. In the vicinity there are around 40 other springs, an amazing number of underground reservoirs, as well as some calderas, hot water springs with a temperature of 40°C to almost 100°C.

The Water Sommelier Union:

A cloud of fine bubbles rushes through the glass to the surface, where most of the bubbles dissipate, leaving some like silver beads.

Magnificat hits the lips with a very soft and mild, almost sweet character and a clear and fresh impression. The natural carbon dioxide shows up quickly as a soft and creamy sparkle that envelops the tongue.

In the aftertaste, it leaves a refreshing and lively mouthfeel for the discerning palate with its fine sparkling acidity and a slightly dry finish.

The ideal drinking temperature is 14/15°C.
