Elsenham Artisan Spring Water

Elsenham artesian spring water: only the very best.

When Elsenham launched in 2005, it was a pioneer in the super-premium water category. With its elegant perfume-bottle-style design and limited-edition production, this English brand has carved a niche in the world of luxury hotels and top restaurants.

The history:

Sir Walter Gilbey - Baron of Elsenham Hall and owner of the most famous orchards in Essex - is the founder of what is now a very exclusive jam company that refines its jams with brandy, gin and whisky.

Although Sir Gilbey's artesian spring dried up in the 1960s, his descendants managed to rediscover the aquifer at a greater depth at the turn of the millennium. They built a modern bottling plant above the spring.

The exclusive premium water never ends up in discount stores. Particular attention is paid to the glass of the bottle. Every drop in the bottle with designer rights and a volume of 75cl is considered a treasure.

In Elsenham itself, every visitor who wants to taste the premium water on site is a welcome guest, and so it is served in the modern water café. After enjoying the water, the polite heirs of Gilbey are happy to allow a look behind the glass scenes.

The source:

Elsenham is a high-quality and exceptional premium water that springs from a centuries-old artesian spring in the London area. Elsenham was first extracted in 1890 from the unique spring chambers of a lime-rich aquifer. Due to the enormous depth of the spring, the water has a very special purity, it is also particularly rich in calcium, iron, low in sodium and strontium (good for bone density) and has only very low levels of sodium.

The water is decades old and is bottled at the spring from a deep underground chalky aquifer. The aquifer has remained untouched for centuries, having originally been under the sea, leaving behind 300m thick protective layers until it reached this limited chalky aquifer. These are now natural filters, meaning the process takes decades to produce the purest water. The spring has enormous reserves.

The water:

The still version tastes absolutely pure and, if you will, very earthy.

The extremely fine and long-lasting perlage of the carbon dioxide gives the sparkling version of this exquisite water a well-dosed, pearly freshness. The high-quality, smooth water is particularly suitable for exclusive occasions, wine tastings or banquets with stylish carafe serving. Each filling comes from a limited batch.

The mark:

Elsenham Artisian Spring Water positions itself in the luxury premium market and sells through exclusive distributors to the best hotels, restaurants, retailers and companies worldwide.

Each bottle is polished by hand before export, and only up to 1,000 bottles of Finewater are bottled each day.

The design:

The bottle design is a very clear visual statement and cannot be compared to any other bottle.

As a high-quality premium water, Elsenham is bottled exclusively in the well-known designer glass bottle. The puristic, simple design emphatically underlines the special nature of this artesian water. The unique design of the fine water, which is particularly popular in top-class restaurants, won the prestigious Best Bottle in Glass Design Award in Dubai in 2005.
