ICELANDIC GLACIAL | still
The premium water ICELANDIC Glacial Water from Iceland embodies absolute purity. The still glacial water has a desirable and unusually high pH of 8.4, making it naturally alkaline.
Long before man reached the remote island of Iceland, a massive volcanic eruption occurred, creating the source of Oilfus deep beneath the earth's surface. For more than 5,000 years, the water has been slowly filtered through layers of lava rock, creating naturally alkaline water with a perfect mineral balance. Shielded by an impenetrable layer of lava rock and surrounded by a 128,000-acre exclusion zone, the spring is constantly replenished by gradual filtration of rain and snowmelt over uninhabited and pristine lava fields. With over 900,000 cubic meters of water flowing daily from the oil fountain into the sea, it is one of Mother Earth's largest natural sources in one of the most pristine ecosystems in the world.
Sustainable
ICELANDIC Glacial was the world's first bottled water to be certified CO2 neutral for both product and operations. ICELANDIC takes great pride in a fully sustainable operation powered solely by geothermal and hydroelectric power.
With 7,688 sq. ft. of space, the world-class bottling plant is one of the greenest and cleanest in the world. Fully automated, it can produce up to 30,000 bottles per hour. The bottling process takes place in a clean room environment to the highest laboratory standards. The water flows directly from the underground source into the bottling line. Nothing is added or taken away.
The water
Not all water is the same: Especially not when it has been shaped and formed by Iceland's rugged landscape. Between glaciers and volcanoes, the artesian mineral water springs from the volcanically formed spring, a qualitative highlight of drinking culture.
The still spring water from the "fire and ice" country impresses with its alkaline taste and Nordic-fresh character. Whether during sports, served at lifestyle events, or simply for in-between - ICELANDIC Glacial Water takes the connoisseur on a journey to the land of elves and trolls.
Design
The characteristically shaped, glacier-inspired bottle neck with four profiles underscores the heritage of water and a premium position. It was awarded "Best Overall Concept and Best Label" at the Bottled Water World Design Awards. The high-quality rPET bottles are BPA-free and bottles, labels, caps and cardboard packaging are 100% recyclable.
Overall, the company runs countless sustainability programs and supports such beyond the company.
We only sell the 75cl glass bottles. In the product images you will also see the award winning PET bottles. We do not carry these.
Location
One of the youngest islands in the world, Iceland has a rugged natural beauty and pristine ecosystem. Centuries of volcanic activity and an abundance of beautiful glaciers have left a breathtaking landscape unparalleled elsewhere in the world, earning the country the nickname "Land of Fire and Ice".
Ecologically, Iceland is unique. Iceland is a large country (103,000 km²) but sparsely populated, with only 3 people per km² living mainly on the coast. The interior of the country offers breathtaking contrasts. It is largely an Arctic desert, punctuated by mountains, glaciers, volcanoes and waterfalls. Most of the vegetation and agricultural land is in the lowlands near the coast. Icelanders have made it a priority to preserve the pristine beauty of their environment, which allows them to gift us with some of the cleanest and purest waters in the world.
