ZAGORI mineral water. Mount Olympus.
The mineral water ZAGORI is @2D0E6 from the spring at the foot of the Mitsikeli-Zagorochoria mountain range in Epirus. The geological formation of the region is responsible for the rich content of minerals and the balanced taste of the water. Fresh and delicious water from nature.
ZAGORI (Greek Ζαγόρι and in German: 'behind the mountain') is a large, but poor community in northwestern Greece. The fact that it is difficult to reach the individual places in the region has proven to be an advantage over the course of history. As a result, the region was spared major upheavals over the centuries. The country, characterized by forested mountains and deep gorges, is bordered by the mountain ranges of the Tymfi in the north and west and the Mitsikeli and Lakmos in the south. A large part of the area is taken up by the National Park Vikos-Aoos and National Park Pindos (Valia-Kalda). The individual villages can be reached via narrow, winding roads and paved paths, and many stone bridges cross streams and rivers. With a population density of 4 inhabitants / km², the area is very sparsely populated. The region is rich in streams and rivers that have cut many spectacular gorges into the rock. The mountainous landscape has always made large-scale development difficult, so that some villages are still only accessible on foot.
The natural mineral water ZAGORI collects in natural water basins under the surface of the earth on the slopes of the Pindos mountain range, in one of the most beautiful, protected and unspoiled regions of Greece, the Zagorochoria region.
During the long "journey" in and through the underground layers of the earth, the physical and chemical composition of the water changes, which gives it its unique properties. The geological formations of the region provide the water with its content of essential minerals and non-metallic elements and thus give it its balanced taste, while at the same time acting as a natural filter for the water on its way to the underground aquifer, where it is during the accumulates throughout the year, well protected from pathogenic microorganisms.
There, at the foot of Mount Mitsikeli, protected from all external influences and environmental pollution, the water is collected directly at the source and fed directly to the bottling site. The filling plants are located at an altitude of 485 m at the foot of the Mitsikeli mountain range, in absolute harmony with nature.
Only raw materials of the best quality are selected for the production of the packaging materials and the installed control system ensures continuous control of the end products to protect and maintain the properties of the water in the bottle.
The special composition of ZAGORI is characterized by its low sodium content. It is ideal for a low-salt diet and makes wholesome, easily digestible water that is balanced, tastes soft, light and harmonious and, with its bottle, makes an appearance on the table that is unmistakable. The 1L bottle is an extraordinary statement. Imposing, elegant, meaningful, it stands sublime next to the table setting and gives the occasion dignity and charm. In Greece, the bottle is so valued that it is served straight to the table without a label. It is part of table culture.
It goes perfectly with spicy dishes and heavy wines and long evenings between the first course and the sunset, wherever you are dining.
