Original Selters: Water with a great history

The Selters brand is very well-known in Germany and is likely familiar to almost everyone. The water comes from the Niederselter mineral spring. This spring is located in the small town of Selters on the Lahn River in the Taunus region – more precisely, in the district of Niederselters – and was first mentioned in 815. In the 18th century, Selters water became particularly popular with royalty. After the spring was heavily used over time and then taken over by a Hessian brewery in 1990, it was shut down. The spring is now owned by the municipality of Selters and has been back in operation since 2001.

Selters mineral water from Germany: Source in the Taunus region

Selters water impresses not only with its long history but also with its taste. It is a natural mineral water of volcanic origin, giving it a balanced mineral content. It is rich in calcium, magnesium, sodium, and bicarbonate. This is why Selters water has been known for its beneficial properties for hundreds of years. The unique mineral composition also contributes to its delicate, fruity aroma. Selters Still is an excellent accompaniment to wine or coffee. It can also be served with spicy dishes, as its subtle minerality complements them beautifully. Selters Medium and Selters Classic, on the other hand, delight with their sparkling mouthfeel. You can enjoy this effervescent water on its own or in mixed drinks. Thanks to its distinctive character, Selters is extremely popular not only at home but also in the restaurant and catering industry.
