The legend from Slovenia since 1647

ROI is incomparable. No other naturally occurring mineral water in the world can boast such properties. Nevertheless, the famous water from Rogaška Slatina in Slovenia is embedded in centuries of history.

The spring itself is over 8,000 years old and its unique geological conditions create the most magnesium-rich mineral water on our planet.

The history:
According to mythology, on Apollo's instructions, the winged horse Pegasus struck the earth with his hoof in Rogaška, Slovenia, opening the spring. At this solemn moment Apollo spoke:

“Here now arises the source of health and the true power of the gods. Drink from this Roitschocrene spring instead of that of Hippocrene.”

The archives of the local parish church show that by the year 1300 it was already known that the spring water was conducive to a longer lifespan. The first chemical analysis of water was presented in 1572 by Leonhard Thurneysser in his work Pison. According to legend, in 1665, Count PetarZrinski drank the water while hunting, which miraculously cured his ailments and led to him introducing ROI to the entire European royal family. Then in 1680 Dr. Paul de Sorbait, court physician, professor at the Vienna Medical Faculty and personal physician to Emperor Leopold I and Empress Eleonor the Miraculous Water. He described it in his book Praxis Medicae and healed his patients with this water until complete recovery without using any further medication and gained international fame. Because of its amazing healing properties, he gave the Slovenian water the name "God's Potion", in English "The God Potion".

Joannes Benedict Grundel wrote the first and only monograph about water in Europe in 1687; of course, the work only dealt with ROI.

A good hundred years later, still 200 years before our time, the price for a single bottle of ROI was the equivalent of €12 or more. Due to the high price, counterfeits came onto the market, so in 1774 Empress Maria Theresa decreed that every bottle from Rogaška should have a label, including the year it was bottled and a symbol that changes every year. The price also had to be published in the Viennese newspapers in order to control the uncontrolled growth.

Let's move a little closer to the present and look at Chicago, where the water was awarded a quality medal at the World's Fair in 1893 and was named the third best water in the world next to Selters and Vichy.

"As with wine, it's not just the characteristics that you can perceive, but also the history."
Michael Masha
Founder of the Fine Water Society

The source:
The springs are located in the middle of the most tectonically diverse areas of Slovenia and have three regional faults: Alps, Dinaric Alps, Pannonia Basin. The oldest rock layer is around 285 million years old.

This unique geological-hydrogeological interaction brings up the extremely special mineral water from a depth of 300 meters, enriched with magnesium, calcium, sulfates and bicarbonates.

Using radiocarbon dating, the artesian spring water is estimated to be about 8,000 years old, and the naturally carbonated water rises to the surface without the aid of pumps, powered by the carbon dioxide it contains.

Charles VI, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, granted the Vienna Pharmacists' Association the concession to use the spring in 1721. Combined with the first technical intervention, the spring took on the appearance of a fountain.

Ferdinand Attems bought the land around the springs in 1803 and founded the health resort and thus the Rogaška Spa Resort.

Health:
The unique ROI mineral water offers different health effects depending on the way you drink it. Drink it quickly and warm to speed up intestinal activity or slowly and cool to increase mineral absorption. Since magnesium is responsible for regulating the entire nervous and muscular system, the world's most magnesium-rich mineral water is the ideal complement to an upscale lifestyle with many benefits when enjoyed in moderation. Excessive amounts of ROI can have a laxative effect.

"Think about it! Way more electrolytes than Gatorade! But it's from Mother Nature!"
Martin Riese
World's leading water sommelier

The taste:
ROI benefits from one of the highest mineral contents (TDS) of any bottled water in the world. Its huge mineral content brings a distinct, rich and voluminous flavor to the table. The elements are in harmonious balance and are easily absorbed by the body in soluble form.

"ROI is like a cognac for me" // "I always call it the Big Boy"

Design:
With the amendment from Roitschocrene to ROI there was also a new philosophy in terms of design and dealing with history. In 2011, they simply realized what they were actually dealing with, and so it happened that year after year they were receiving prestigious awards for design and taste from the Fine Water Society and other institutions.

Exclusivity:
ROI is offered in Germany and Europe exclusively by FINE LIQUIDS. The water is in incredible demand and yet is strictly limited to protect the source. FINE LIQUIDS is the first retailer in Europe to offer the water.
