Taste the Ice
The premium Icelandic Glacial Water from Iceland embodies absolute purity. The still glacial water has a desirable and unusually high pH value of 8.4, which makes it naturally alkaline.
Long before man reached the remote island of Iceland, a massive volcanic eruption occurred, creating the Ölfus spring deep below the earth's surface. For more than 5,000 years, the water has been slowly filtered through the layers of lava rock, creating a naturally alkaline water with a perfect balance of minerals. Shielded by an impenetrable layer of lava rock and surrounded by a 128,000 hectare exclusion zone, the spring is constantly replenished by a gradual filtration of rain and snowmelt over uninhabited and pristine lava fields. With over 900,000 cubic meters of water flowing daily from the oil fus spring into the sea, it is one of Mother Earth's largest natural springs in one of the world's most pristine ecosystems.
Sustainable
Icelandic Glacial was the first bottled water in the world to be certified as CO2 neutral for both the product and the operation. Icelandic is very proud of a fully sustainable operation, powered exclusively by geothermal and hydroelectric energy.
With an area of 7,688 sq. ft., the world-class bottling plant is one of the greenest and cleanest in the world. Up to 30,000 bottles per hour can be produced fully automatically. The bottling process takes place in a clean room environment to the highest laboratory standards. The water flows directly from the underground spring into the bottling plant. Nothing is added or taken away.
The water
Not all water is the same: especially not when it has been shaped and formed by Iceland's rugged landscape. Between glaciers and volcanoes, the artesian mineral water springs from the volcanic source, a qualitative highlight of drinking culture.
The still spring water from the "land of fire and ice" impresses with its alkaline taste and Nordic-fresh character. Whether during sport, served at lifestyle events or simply as a snack - Icelandic Glacial Water takes the connoisseur on a journey to the land of elves and trolls.
Design
The characteristically shaped, glacier-inspired bottle neck with four profiles emphasizes the heritage of water and a premium position. It was awarded "Best Overall Concept and Best Label" at the Bottled Water World Design Awards. The high-quality rPET bottles are BPA-free and the bottles, labels, caps and cartons are 100% recyclable.
Overall, the company runs countless sustainability programs and also supports them beyond the company itself.
We only sell the 75cl glass bottles. You can also see the award-winning PET bottles in the product images. We do not stock these.
Place
As one of the youngest islands in the world, Iceland has a rugged, natural beauty and an untouched ecosystem. Centuries of volcanic activity and an abundance of beautiful glaciers have left a breathtaking landscape unlike anywhere else in the world, earning the country the nickname 'Land of Fire and Ice'.
Iceland is unique in ecological terms. Iceland is a large country (103,000 km²), but sparsely populated, with only 3 people per km² living mainly on the coast. The interior offers breathtaking contrasts. It is largely an arctic desert, interspersed with mountains, glaciers, volcanoes and waterfalls. Most of the vegetation and agricultural land is located in the lowlands near the coast. Icelanders have made it a priority to preserve the pristine beauty of their environment, allowing them to gift us with some of the cleanest and purest waters in the world.
